Russian State Duma Defense Committee head Andrey Kartapolov and Security Committee head Vasily Piskarev have submitted a letter to Attorney General Igor Krasnov asking him to find a solution to the supply problems plaguing the country’s military, RIA Novosti reported on Thursday.
“The heads of two of our committees [...] wrote a letter to the Attorney General requesting that he figure out where all [of the supplies] for the rear went, because all of the budgeting for the rear was completed in its entirety last year. Attention, a question: where [is it all]?” Defense Committee member Andrey Gurulyov said on the state news network Channel One.
Gurulyov told Interfax that the committee heads sent the letter on October 4, and that the decision was prompted by the lack of “equipment for mobilization.”
Since Vladimir Putin announced Russia’s mobilization campaign on September 21, many Russian conscripts have reported being asked to purchase their own military equipment, camping gear, and medical supplies.
On October 5, on the Russia propaganda program Solovyov Live, Andrey Kartapolov criticized the Russian Defense Ministry for not telling the whole truth about Russia’s war in Ukraine, calling on the agency to “stop lying.”
